Closure of Theale High St for remembrance Sunday
8th - 8th Nov 2026
On Sunday 8 November 2026, Theale High Street will be closed from 09:00 to 11:00 for a Remembrance Sunday service.
During this time Jet Black 1 buses will not be able to serve Theale High Street.
The 08:55 and 09:55 Reading to Newbury journeys will be affected during the closure.
The 08:35 and 09:25 Newbury to Reading journeys will be affected during the closure.
The Jet Black 1 will be diverted via Waterside Drive, Brunel Road and Station Road, before re-joining their normal route on the A4 Bath Road.
Customers are advised to use temporary stops outside Theale train station.
Towards Reading the temporary stop is opposite the car park entrance.
Toward Newbury the temporary stop is just past the entrance to car park, before the roundabout.

Buckland Road circle Roundabout at the junction of long barn Lane will be closed from Friday 11th September 2026 until further notice.
This is due to Thames Water Works
No Stops will be missed during this closure.
Buzz 9 towards Green park will divert via Buckland Road, Basingstoke Road, Long Barn Lane then onto Northumberland Avenue.
Buzz 9 towards Reading will divert via Long Barn Lane, Basingstoke Road, Buckland Road then onto Cressingham Road to resume normal route.

• aqua 28 & 28a towards Henley-on-Thames will terminate at Christ Church bus stop, and towards Central Reading will start from Henley Rail Station bus stop.
Service Alteration Bus Stop Information:
• aqua 28 & 28a towards Henley-on-Thames will not call at 'Bell Street Stop D' bus stop. aqua 28 & 28a towards Central Reading will not call at 'Hart Street Stop A' bus stop.

Increased capacity on Aqua 28
2nd Nov 2026 onwards
Following increased demand on aqua 28 to and from Henley College, we are increasing capacity on the service for the busiest journeys.
Additional buses
On Monday to Thursday mornings, we will be running an additional bus alongside the usual 7.50am departure from Friar Street, Central Reading, running around 5 minutes after the usual scheduled bus.
On Monday to Friday afternoons, there will be an additional bus alongside the usual 4.30pm departure from Hart Street, Henley. This bus will run at the same time as the usually scheduled bus.
These additional buses will be double-deck buses to help provide extra capacity.
Friday buses
On Fridays mornings, the 9.20am departure from Friar Street, Central Reading will be swapped from a single deck bus to a higher capacity double deck bus. There will be no additional bus in the mornings on Fridays.
