We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for a diversity award in which the key quality judges are looking for is – excellence.

We’ve been selected as a finalist in the Diversity Champion Category of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Excellence Awards.

The category recognises companies for championing diversity and inclusion to drive business performance in a way that engages and inspires. We face competition from the other shortlisted nominee, Jane Desmond, Operations Director, HCT Group.

The winner will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, on October 18.

We operate in a diverse community on every single factor that you can think of:

  • income
  • disability
  • gender
  • ethnicity
  • sexual orientation
  • age
  • and much more!

Our employees and our activities have mirrored Reading in every way possible, to show we care.

‘Being caring’ is one of our company values

We define this as 'being caring to our customers, each other, the communities we serve and the environment.’

We’ve made sure different groups or individuals having different backgrounds are culturally and socially accepted and welcomed, and treated equally.

Diversity and inclusion is not just a fad or a phase

By engaging and inspiring the community, customers and employees, we’ve made a tangible difference - it’s integral to us here at Reading Buses and has driven business results.
