Minor jet black fares change

Following our acquisition of Newbury & district in September 2018, we’ve been reviewing how we bring the two companies closer together, and how we can make sure that we maximise the benefit of being under the same ownership. We have been looking at the strengths and weaknesses of each aspect of the business and need to make some changes to ensure that the business is sustainable.

There will be changes to Newbury & District services from Tuesday 23 April - this will involve some changes to timetables and fares as we better align the two businesses.

This will also have an effect on jet black fares from Monday 22 April.

The great news for customers in the Newbury and Thatcham area is that tickets will be inter-available on Reading Buses and Newbury & district routes, meaning you can use your ticket on any bus. To ensure that this can work, we are harmonising all fares in the area - meaning there will be some minor changes to some jet black on the bus fares.

Some fares will increase slightly, whilst others will reduce. For most customers, there will be no change!

Period tickets (day, 7 day and 30 day) will not change - but now will be available to use on Newbury & District services.
