How long have you been working for Reading Buses?

More than a year now.

What did you do before?

Distribution Management.

What hobbies do you do?

Carp fishing, and spending time with my family and my cat!

Why did you decide to become a bus driver?

I wanted a less stressful role, and being a bus driver has many different facets to the role! I managed the regional distribution centre for Warburtons and helped to deliver online shopping during the pandemic which put me in good stead for bus driving. 

What do you enjoy most about being a bus driver?

That it's customer facing. 

What has surprised you most about driving buses?

How there are many different parts to the role.. not just the driving. 

What are the three best things about being a bus driver?

That you are effectively your own boss, the customer service and that no two days are the same.

Tell me your favourite memory about being a bus driver?

I've not been here long, but have to say that one thing that has stood out is the fantastic training. 

If you were trying to convince a friend to become a bus driver, what would you say to them?

That it's a fantastic job opportunity for the right person!

What would you say is the main benefit of working for Reading Buses?

There's a few. It feels like a family, the pay and the opportunity for overtime.
