Introducing azure 43
We’re excited to announce that on Monday 2 September we’ll be introducing a brand-new route serving Pangbourne and Upper Basildon – azure 43!
Azure 43 will run Monday to Saturday every 2 hours from Central Reading to Pangbourne and Upper Basildon via Purley and Oxford Road. On schooldays one of the journeys in the morning and afternoon will run as route 93, continuing on from Pangbourne to Langtree school.
As part of the route launch we’ll shortly be introducing eye-catching azure-branded gas-powered buses onto the route, which will run on sustainably sourced bio-methane helping keep the carbon impact very low.
Our azure 43 service replaces the former 143 and BB3 routes, which were operated by Thames Travel.
fares
Customers travelling on azure 43 will be able to take advantage of our wide range of fares available on bus as well as on our mobile app, smartcard and with tap on tap off.
Our £2 singles will be available throughout the route and between Reading and Purley customers can take advantage of our Reading All-Bus tickets.
Passengers travelling from stops between Purley, Pangbourne and Upper Basildon take advantage of our simplyNetwork products which include group and day tickets for unlimited travel.
All of our simplyNetwork tickets will allow for easy transfer onto our other services within Reading to places such as Royal Berks Hospital and the University.
school journeys
Alongside azure 43, we’re also introducing a school variant – route 93, which will service Langtree School in the morning and afternoon.
