Wokingham Half Marathon 2024

The Wokingham Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday 25 February and due to this, our lion 4 and X4 services in Wokingham will be affected between 8 am and 11 am.

Buses will be affected as follows:

towards Bracknell

The 8.35 am, 9.05 am, 9.35 am and 10.05 am departures from Reading will run via the A329 from Winnersh Triangle towards Bracknell, exiting at the London Road / A329 Wokingham junction, where they will serve the Coppid Beech park & ride site before returning to their normal route from Keephatch Gardens. These buses will not be able to serve stops between Loddon Bridge Roundabout and Plough Lane. The 10.35 am departure from Reading (and all departures after) will run the lion 4 and X4 route as normal.

towards Reading

All services from Bracknell between 8am and 11am will run via Denmark Steet and Wellington Road, rejoining the normal route from Wokingham Station. Buses will stop at all stops on the route. Due to road closures for the half marathon, we will be unable to serve the Broad Street and Shute End stops.

race day shuttle service

To help runners and supporters reach the race village, we will be running a free shuttle service from Coppid Beech park & ride.

Buses will stop inside the car park at Coppid Beech and run towards the race village from 8 am until 9.40 am, running every 15 minutes. For the return journey, shuttle buses will be running from the race village to Coppid Beech every 15 minutes between 11.15 am until 1.45 pm.

These buses are free to board however you will need to pay for parking at the machines in the car park before boarding the bus.
