We’re Top Shire Operator (again!)

We are thrilled to announce that we have won Top Shire Operator at the UK Bus Awards for the second year in a row. 

Held on Tuesday 25 November at Troxy in London, the UK Bus Awards (considered one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies for the UK bus industry) saw us awarded Top Shire Operator. 

This award recognises the amazing work that our employees carry out every day, as well as the partnerships we have built with local authorities, the enhancements made to several of our bus routes over the past year and improvements made to our bus fleet.

Winning this award for a second time in a row helps us continue our commitment to making bus travel the transport mode of choice in Reading and beyond. 

We faced some tough competitors in this category for 2025, and we were delighted to win the award for the second time in two years. This continues our strong history of winning the award, having now won it seven times since 2012. 

We were also named as third best bus company in the UK after claiming bronze in the overall Bus Operator of the Year category, behind fellow municipally-owned Blackpool Transport who were crowned Operator of the Year.

Winning awards such as this would not be possible without the work and commitment of our Reading Buses team and our customers. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone for helping us achieve it once again.
