Timetable changes from Tuesday 1 September

From Tuesday 1 June, we’ll be making changes to some of the timetables on our routes.

During the busiest times on weekday morning and evenings, we’ll be increasing the frequency on claret 21 in the morning and evenings to provide extra buses for customers. Alongside this, there will also be changes to some other times to help with reliability.

We’re also making changes to departure times on emerald 5 and 6, with emerald 5 running up to every 15 minutes and emerald 6 and 6a also seeing changes to times, but continuing to run up to every 12 minutes. Buses will still combine to provide a frequent service between Whitley Street and town. 

There will be a new timetable on greenwave 50 and 50a on weekdays and buses running up to every 15 minutes Monday to Friday.

We’re also adding an extra journey to both our lime 2 and little oranges 19b on school days, and lime 2 will also seeing an updated timetable with changes to departure times. The rest of the timetable for little oranges 19b, and for 19a and 19c, will remain the same. 

school bus changes 

We’re making changes to some of our school routes from September. You can see the full information on our school routes here. Route 80 will be cancelled due to the closure of St Joseph's College. Route 81 will be rerouted to cover Caversham Park Village instead. An additional route 81 bus will be introduced at 4.44pm from the RBH South Wing running as far as Caversham Heights - intended for the students at Reading School, Abbey School and Kendrick School who are attending after school activities. Routes 82, 83 and 84 will be affected by a reduction in funding so route 83 will be withdrawn. There should be enough space on routes 82 and 84 to cope with the amount of students travelling in these areas. 

Leopard 3 route change in Arborfield

We’re also making minor changes to the leopard 3 route in Arborfield, with buses using Rowcroft Road instead of Baird Road and additional bus stops being added at Lance Way. There is no change to the overall timetable or any other part of the route.
