Timetable changes 31 August

1 month ago Mon 16th Aug 2021

As summer begins to dwindle, our thoughts turn to our timetable changes. Our annual timetable change usually happens at the end of August/beginning of September and although this year is no different, we aren't changing much this time around.

We are also able to confirm what our buses for schools will be doing as well.

lion change

The only 'proper' change for August is on the lion 4/X4, which will see amended times throughout the week.

return to full frequency on emerald and purple 17

For summer, we reduced the peak time frequencies on emerald 5 and 6 and purple 17. These reductions were small, and so the return to pre-summer frequencies just means you will have slightly less of a wait for your bus.

buses for schools

Our buses for schools had some temporary changes for 2020 due to the pandemic. Now that restrictions have been lifted, there will no longer be any of the temporarily renumbered 900+ buses (and temporary route 80) and some services that were previously closed off to other schools are now able to be used.

Route 91 remains a closed service for Reading Girls' School students only.

Route 92 has been discontinued due to low usage, but Wokingham Borough Council are looking into funding an alternative service - please contact them for details. Route 93 also has some common sections with the old 92 route so students on these sections can use this service.

evening buses have returned

As most of you already know, all the extra evening/night buses that were suspended during the pandemic are now back on with the exception of claret 21 which sees evening buses return from the start of the University term in September.
