Things to do this summer

5 months ago Fri 2nd Aug 2019

The summer holidays are finally here! With the weeks stretching ahead without school, it can be hard to think of ways to keep them entertained that are friendly on your pocket. This is why we've put together our top three activities:

1) MERL tucked away on Redlands Road is this absolute gem, which is bursting with activities for all ages. Learn about Reading's farming past, test yourself with games and puzzles and transport yourself back in time with this hands on interactive museum experience.

2. Dinton Country Park. No one wants to be stuck inside on a nice sunny day, why not visit Dinton Country Park? Set in beautiful grounds where you can enjoy games and picnics, is a award winning adventure park filled with slides and swings - great for monkeys big and small!

3. Reading Library. Nice and sunny? Pouring with rain? A good book provides perfect peace whatever the weather. Need a bit of encouragement? The library's annual summer reading challenge is back with the theme 'space chase'! With volunteers helping with reading, stickers and charts, this budget friendly activity will keep them entertained all summer.

Enjoying these activities just got better! This summer, our simplyNetwork group ticket (up to 4 people) is just £6 for a whole days travelling! Check your route here.
