A record-breaking Open Day

Our Open Day returned on Sunday 26 June after an absence of nearly three years and it did not disappoint!

The weather was warm, the mood was high and it all combined to give us a record-breaking open day.

The day itself was opened by our Chief Executive, Robert Williams, with help from very honoured guests, Cllr Debs Edwards, Deputy Mayor of Reading, Tony Page, Deputy Leader of Reading Borough Council & Lead Councillor for Climate Strategy & Transport, Matt Rodda, MP Reading East and Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and Peter Milhofer, Reading Buses' Chairman of the Board

For our Open Day, all the profit from the day goes to our Charity of the Year, which is currently our neighbours, New Beginnings.

how much did we raise?

The total taken on the day was over £6,700 which is a phenomenal amount of money - the most popular attractions on the day being the bus wash, barbecue, tombola and, of course, the behind-the-scenes tours.

Whilst we don't know exactly how many people came this year, it certainly felt like the busiest ever as people from all over the area flocked to eat, drink and be merry!

We know that many of you will already be excited for next year's instalment so keep your eyes peeled for when we announce the date!
