Reading Buses Open Day 2026

We’re excited to announce that our open day is back for 2026!
Taking place from 11am until 4pm on Sunday 28 June at our Great Knollys Street depot; the open day is free to attend and is sure to be a great day out for everyone.
This year our open day will be helping to raise funds for our Charity of the Year, Berkshire Search and Rescue Dogs.
what to expect
As in previous years, our open day will include a wide range of stalls, activities, food and behind-the-scenes tours around our depot.
payment options
The event is free to attend, but activities, food and games obviously have a price! We appreciate cash where possible, but also operate a token system - you can use your bank card at our cash/token bus and get tokens to spend on site. There are a handful of our own stalls, such as the tour tickets, that will have machines to enable you to pay by card.
Please note that outside vendors will not accept tokens, but should have their own card readers.

As usual, we'll have a large selection of food for you to enjoy during your visit, including:
- BBQ - featuring burgers, sausages and vegetarian options
- South Indian cuisine

- Tea, coffee and soft drinks

free shuttle bus between Reading town centre and the depot
We'll be running a free shuttle bus to help you get to the depot from the town centre. See below for the timings and bus stops:
