fare changes from Wed 1 Nov
Some of our fares will be changing from Wednesday 1 November. We have tried to hold as many fares as possible, but some fares are having to change. We are pleased to confirm that we will be continuing to offer the £2 single fare across our services until December 2023, following the extension of the UK government help for households scheme.
The other good news is that the prices of our All-Bus ticket, daysaver5s, 7 and 30 day tickets within the simplyReading zone will also remain the same.
Short-hop fares within Reading (eg. on bronze 11change by 10p to £1.60, Boost single tickets will become £2 and our 90 and annual simplyReading tickets will see small increases too. This does of course mean that the single ticket for both adults and Boost within Reading will be £2 – this is due to the Government funding keeping the adult ticket price down, whereas there is no funding for Boost (child) tickets.
Tickets for journeys outside of Reading (eg, simplyNetwork) will also see some increases as well, all of which are detailed below along with a full list of our revised fares from Wednesday 1 November. However, most of these changes are mitigated by the £2 single fare extension.
Tap on, tap off is coming
Our new tap on, tap off payment method also launches on Wednesday 1 November, offering an easier and faster way to pay; with tap on tap off adult tickets you just pay for what you use with tickets capped at the price of a day ticket for the area you are travelling in. To find out more click here.
simplyReading
The simplyReading area is where most of our buses run and is what most people think of as ‘Reading town”.
