St Mary's Butts - Oxford Road Junction

St Mary’s Butts, Oxford Road and West Street (and all of our stops there) will be closed from Monday 24 July reopening on Monday 7 August.

This is to allow for repairs to be carried out on the cobbled area outside Metro Bank.

These roadworks will affect all routes that normally run through St Mary's Butts with them being diverted as follows:

jet black 1
Towards Reading
Buses will follow their normal route until Waylen Street and will then divert via Eaton Place, Chatham Street returning to their normal route in Friar Street. They will be unable to serve Cheapside (stop CV).

To Newbury
From Blagrave Street via Valpy Street, Market Place, into Minster Street Serving stop MP (behind Primark) straight over traffic lights onto Castle Street resuming route from here. They will be unable to serve Friar Street 9stop FP) and St Mary's Butts (stop CA).

Towards Reading
Buses will follow their normal route until Waylen Street and will then divert via Eaton Place, Chatham Street returning to their normal route in Friar Street. They will be unable to serve Cheapside (stop CV).

To Burghfield & Mortimer
From Blagrave Street via Valpy Street, Market Place, into Minster Street Serving stop MP (behind Primark) straight over traffic lights onto Castle Street resuming route from here. They will be unable to serve Friar Street 9stop FP) and St Mary's Butts (stop CA).

Buses will follow their normal route to Minster Street and will then divert straight across onto Castle Street passing the Police Station then onto the IDR to Chatham Street roundabout, returning to their normal route in Friar Street. Buses run as normal from Reading

From Friar Street East, buses will continue to Friar Street West and onto Cheapside, stopping additionally at Cheapside (stop CZ). Buses will then return to their normal route on Oxford Road. They will be unable to serve Cheapside (stop CX).

Buses will follow their normal route to Queens Road. They will then divert via Forbury Road towards Reading Station, onto Blagrave Street and then Friar Street East calling additionally at Friar Street (stop FP). They will then run via Friar Street West onto Cheapside stopping at Cheapside (stop CZ) and returning to their normal route after. They will be unable to serve Huntley and Palmers (Stop 1), Kings Road (stop MG), Minster Street (stop MM), St Marys Butts (stop CN) and Cheapside (stop CW).

Buses will follow their normal route until Waylen Street and will then divert via Eaton Place, Chatham Street returning to their normal route in Friar Street. They will be unable to serve Cheapside (stop CY).

Foxhill Bus Stops Suspended

25th - 27th Jul 2023

The Foxhill Road bus stops on Addington Road will be out of use from Tuesday 25 July until Thursday 27 July 2023

This is due to emergency works and 3-way temporary lights by Thames Water.

Please use either the Eastern Avenue or Alexandra Road bus stops instead.
