Due to forthcoming expansion, for a limited time only Reading Buses will be opening up recruitment to existing PCV licence holders for vacancies at its Newbury depot. Rates of pay are £12 per hour and standard Reading Buses terms and conditions apply including sick pay and bonus schemes, full uniform and more.
At the same time we also have a small number of late turn vacancies at our Reading based depot.
The window for direct recruitment of existing licence holders will be open for applications until close of business on Friday 2nd September 2016.
We are about to expand with the award of 7 additional buses work on a mix of contracted and commercial local bus services from our Newbury depot, alongside a renewal of our Vodafone corporate shuttle operation in the town and the trunk Newbury – Reading JetBlack service.
Due to this expansion we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Operations Manager to join the company to head up our Newbury depot and provide support to the wider operations team at Reading.
Reporting to the Operations Manager based in Reading, you will lead our Newbury depot, including service delivery, driver management and assist with its commercial development, including ensuring strong management of the contracts, developing extra revenues and owning the site P&L. You’ll lead and inspire our people and take advantage of the latest technology to deliver the best possible services to our customers with the 21 bus operation at Newbury, as well as supporting the operation in Reading when required and taking the lead in arranging additional work such as ad-hoc special event and rail replacement operations.
This role will provide a fantastic opportunity to join a growing forward thinking bus operator and take your operational and commercial expertise to the next level. It is envisaged that this will be a developmental position for someone in a similar role and looking to progress with a wider range of responsibilities and experience.
