We are looking for PSV / HGV technicians at our Reading depot.
We want hard-working, self-starting individuals with a passion for repairing and maintaining heavy duty vehicles.
Positions are available for shifts working Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday with alternating hours of 6am - 2pm or 8am - 4pm shifts, or for late shift working 4 on 4 off between the hours of 3pm - 2am, 6pm - 5am, 7pm - 6am or 8pm -7am.
The rate of pay will be determined by the rota you work on.
You'll be joining an award-winning department that is a founder member of the DVSA's earned recognition scheme.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our buses.
- Investigating and diagnosing mechanical and electronic faults.
- Recording faults and the work performed to fix them using a tablet.
- Following safety instructions and reporting any issues.
Our ideal candidates will:
- Possess at least an NVQ Level 2 qualification in the maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles (or an equivalent international qualification), or have at least five years' experience in repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles (evidence will need to be provided for this).
- Provide evidence of your qualification from the awarding body. If you don’t have an NVQ, you’ll need to pass the IRTEC Service Maintenance Technician exam during your six-month probation.
- While not essential, having a PCV licence would be a great advantage.
