parts & stock controller apprenticeship vacancies
We need to recruit a key individual to support our vehicle parts and supply chain operation. We’re offering an apprenticeship place at Reading Buses, based at our state-of-the-art facility in Reading. You’ll be buying parts for our vehicles, controlling what we hold on the shelf and managing a £4m ‘business within a business’. Our fleet has the latest gas, diesel and hybrid vehicles and you’ll be working with the technical team to ensure they have the right parts, when they need them and to the right price and quality.
Starting in September 2019, over the four-year apprenticeship you’ll see all parts of our business and spend time with some hands-on experience working on our vehicles. You’ll attend college on block release during the first three years to achieve an NVQ3 level qualification and be responsible for your own time and work across several sites.
This is a full time role 38 hours a week Monday – Friday, initially starting at 06:00 and 09:00 on a rotating shift basis. Pay starts at £7.81/hr in the first year, rising to up to £32k upon completion. We’ll also cover costs to achieve your car and bus driving licences, as well as a contributory pension scheme, free bus travel and all the other perks of working for a respected and growing municipal bus operator. We’re looking for 8 GCSEs at grade A-C or equivalent, and a genuine interest in vehicles, engineering and customer service.
Send a CV and covering letter, pick up an application form from reception or call on 0118 959 4000. Applications to be returned to Caroline Anscombe, HR Director, Reading Buses, Great Knollys Street, Reading, RG1 7HH or email [email protected]
The closing date for applications is 24 May 2019. We are an equal opportunity employer and this role is open to both external and internal candidates.
