Five years ago, Reading Transport and Reading Borough Council together started a massive investment in upgrading the quality of Reading's main bus routes. These have become our network of Premier Routes.

Our Premier Routes give you:

• Direct high frequency bus services 
• Colour coded buses – making it easier to know you’ve got on the right bus
• CCTV – to make your journey safer
• Low- floor buses – easy access for wheelchair users, buggies or people who find steps difficult
• Lower emission buses – helping improve Reading’s air quality 
• New modern buses – for a comfortable ride
• Real-time information – so your know when your bus will arrive 
• Bus priority measures and bus only lanes – less hold ups on your journey.
