Your bus service may be changing - from 25th February
07 Feb 2008
Reading’s residents have had their say in Reading Buses’ recent consultation to shape the future of the town’s bus services. The new services will bring about improvements to the town’s network and solve some of Reading’s transport issues. Many requests from customers to modify the network have been included in the service change. Not everyone’s problems could be resolved but Reading Buses are confident that changes will be welcomed by most of the customers affected. Chair of Reading Buses Tony Jones says “These improvements will bring Premier routes to Lower Earley, Woodley and West Reading to match those enjoyed by the rest of the town. The completion of the Premier route network on the 25 February will mark a new era, bringing more frequent and better quality buses to these communities.” Changes to services include more convenient journeys between Purley and Central Reading, more frequent evening and Sunday services to Woodley and more frequent Sunday services to Lower Earley. Oxford Road also has a vastly improved Sunday service, running every 7-8 minutes during the day, responding to customer demand for a more frequent service to the town centre. Customers with pushchairs and wheelchairs will find travelling easier as all buses will be low-floor and easily accessible. Find out more...
