Timetable changes

We have some timetable changes coming for sky blue 15 and 16 and royal blue 33, as well as the new route 7, starting on Monday 16 April.

changes for Tilehurst

The biggest changes see the removal of the royal blue 33a, which is instead replaced with an extension of the sky blue 15a all the way to Tilehurst Triangle. This still gives people on Mayfair a good service and provides better links to Tilehurst from Central Reading. The changes across these buses are designed to make all of the services more reliable and to better reflect the current usage on each route.

See below for each route-by-route explanation of what has changed.

sky blue 15

Sky blue 15 sees the 15a extended from Dee Park all the way to Tilehurst Triangle, giving you more buses running further for longer! This is to replace the service along Mayfair with the royal blue 33a being withdrawn - see below for details.
Sky blue 15 will still run to Sainsbury's and IKEA in Calcot as current and will be up to every 15 minutes between Reading and Tilehurst Triangle.

sky blue 16

Whilst we were changing the sky blue 15, we thought it would be a good opportunity to look at the sky blue 16 timetables at the same time! Sky blue 16 will be retimed, but will still run the same route and at the same frequency, up to every 15 minutes, as before. This new timetable will help make this service even more reliable.

royal blue 33

Royal blue 33 sees the removal of royal blue 33a which ran along Mayfair. This is replaced with the extension on the sky blue 15a - see above for details.
The frequency for the whole route therefore will now be up to every 15 minutes rather than the every 10 minutes along the Tilehurst Road as previous. This does, of course, mean that there are more buses to the Turnham's Farm/Little Heath area which benefits from having an extra bus per hour.
The main reason for this change is to help reliability across all these services and especially in the Tilehurst area.
Please note, this revision of the route also means that the 33S will use Corwen Road instead of St Michael's Road between The Meadway and Tilehurst Triangle.
