River stories

Reading on Thames is in full swing this week with many activities and fun events to celebrate Reading’s historic waterways! One of the main events of the ‘festival’ (and one that we are really looking forward to) is “river stories” by walk the plank! The show takes place in the Caversham Court Gardens on Saturday 16th September at 7:45pm. There is no parking at the site or in the surrounding streets – so don’t miss out, use our shuttle bus, it’s only £1 each trip!

What’s the show?

River Stories is a new festival celebrating the River Thames! A spectacular performance inspired by folklore, traditions and history of the river - including fire, lights and pyrotechnics! Something for all the family to enjoy.

Reading stories shuttle bus

We will be running a shuttle bus from Reading Station North to River Stories at a temporary bus stop along Vastern Road. It will run every 15 minutes starting from 5:45pm until 7:30pm. Return journeys will begin from the show at 9:45pm with the last bus running at 11:30pm. It’s only £1 fare for each trip! In addition, any of our great value period tickets or smartcards (from day tickets upward) can be used on this service. Don’t forget, this includes the £6 group ticket, available for up to 4 people of any age!

Other bus routes

As well as the £1 shuttle bus, you can hop on the regular Pink 22 and 24 and get off at Bridge Street or Church Street – a short walk from Caversham Court Gardens.
