Gas Main Replacement Woodley Area

A major programme of Gas Main Replacement will start in the Woodley area in May 2010 and will last until 2012.

Work is scheduled take place on the following roads which are used by buses:-

Loddon Bridge Road (starts 10 May 2010 on the section between Vauxhall Drive and Woodley (Just Tiles) Roundabout) - Completed
Butts Hill Road - TBA but after Reading Road is completed
Headley Road - Completed
Headley Road East - Completed
Reading Road - ongoing until April 2012
Tippings Lane - Completed
Howth Drive - Completed
Glendevon Road - Completed
Western Avenue - Completed
Woodley Roundabout (Just Tiles) - Completed

Reading Road/Beechwood Avenue/Headley Road junction expected to be closed 7.00pm 22 July until Sunday 4 September 2011 - Completed.

Whilst most of the work will be carried out under temporary traffic signals, there will be some road closures which will necessitate the diversion of bus routes. Full details of any temporary arrangements will be posted on our website www.reading-buses.co.uk and on affected bus stops nearer the time.

Reading Buses, together with Thames Travel are working closely with Wokingham Borough Council and Southern Gas Networks in order to keep the disruption to bus services to a minimum.
