Premier Route 16 - Proposed changes for Sept '08

The Problem

Since the introduction of this new route in February 2008, which was broadly welcomed, we have been experiencing problems with late running at busy times of day due to traffic volumes in Oxford Road.

Our Proposal

Some changes were made from 26 May, including the addition of an extra bus into the schedule during the daytime which has helped to cure late running experienced at peak times. Please tell us what you think of this development.

The stop at Purley Post Office will no longer be served by Premier Route 16. This will provide four minutes of extra running time to improve reliability over the rest of the route. The Purley Post Office stop is served by Services 132 (Thames Travel) and 142 (Reading Transport – Goldline), both of which provide a faster, more direct journey into Central Reading from this point.
